How to create a QuickBooks Desktop backup file

In QuickBooks Desktop follow these steps:

  • File --> Back Up Company --> Create Local Backup.

  • Local back-up.

  • Next.

  • Save it now.

  • Next.

  • Choose File Save location - Remember this location as you will need to access it again shortly.

  • Default File name is fine.

  • QBD will do the work saving the backup in that location. This will take a few minutes.

  • After complete, find the file within the Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac) and forward to the appropriate email/folder/link.
