Metrics Page
Picture this: a dashboard that not only shows you the dollars and cents but also paints a vibrant picture of how your finances are performing through time. Enter the Metrics page!
When comparing year-over-year data for your business, the Metrics page provides the best visual representation of your financials. This page will show you how your finances are stacking up YoY for that month.
Each data tile displays each month’s data for a certain time period, so you can analyze how the different metrics may be influencing each other.
We have 6 data tiles to compare on the Metrics page:
Revenue
Gross Profit
Net Income
Payroll % of Revenue
Working Capital
Debt to Equity
Hover over each data tile to see the percentage difference year-over-year between each metric.
For example, the Revenue tile will show you for this month, how did it compare to last year dollar-wise, and what is the percentage difference (%+/%-):
Filters on the Metrics page
But wait, there's more! We've got filters that are like superheroes for your data. If you're using tracking categories in Xero or QuickBooks Online, we've got your back.
To track by certain categories, such as location, project, revenue channel, etc., click the filter button on the top right of the dashboard:
Select the tracking category(ies) you would like to filter by. You can choose one or multiple. The Bookkeeper360 App will then update the filters on the Metrics page.
Clicking the filter in the top right will also allow you to hide/show the current month, some financial data may be coming in towards the end of the month, and if this is toggled to “show”, it can seem like it is trending downwards. Toggle this to “hide” for more accurate representation.
You can also toggle between Cash Basis or Accrual Basis using our filter.
Tracking Categories
If you have tracking categories set up within Xero or QuickBooks Online, you can utilize them in the Bookkeeper360 App’s filtering options.
To track by certain categories, such as location, project, revenue channel, etc., click the filter button on the top right of the dashboard:
Select the tracking category(ies) you would like to filter by. You can choose one or many categories, for example, if you wanted to see how a particular location was performing for your Revenue YoY select that tracking category.
How the Metrics are calculated:
